Original: A calm weekend drive through Connecticut turned into a nightmare for one Fairfield County resident who was carjacked at gunpoint, authorities said.
The victim told police they were at the stop light at the Walls Drive and North Benson Road intersection in Fairfield in their Porsche 911 just before 10 a.m. when a BMW pulled in front and blocked in the victim's car, officials said.
A man got out, approached the window, and demanded the driver get out at gunpoint, Fairfield police said. The victim complied, and the suspect jumped in the driver's seat and sped away with the BMW close behind as they merged onto I-95.
Police relayed this description of the carjacker.
The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build, wearing dark clothing including a hooded sweatshirt, mask, sunglasses, and sweatpants.
An initial investigation found that the carjacker followed the Porsche from a gas station and waited for their moment to strike.
Police ask residents and drivers to be aware of their surroundings.
Officers ask anyone with information on the carjacking to contact Fairfield Police at (203) 254-4800.
